Coconut Health Benefits

Coconuts contain no trans-fats, is gluten free, non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and also contains antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and antiparasitic healing properties. Coconut helps in the aid and support of the body's immune system!

Improves digestion- It also improves many of the symptoms and inflammatory conditions associated with digestive and bowel disorders. It does this by supporting the absorp
tion of nutrients including, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids while also providing beneficial dietary fiber.

High in dietary fiber- Coconut supplies an impressive 61% dietary fiber!

Improves heart health-
Coconut does this by providing short chain and medium chain fatty acids (MCFA) that are essential to good health. Studies have shown that in area where coconuts are a dietary staple, the people do not suffer from high cholesterol or heart disease.

Helps prevent obesity-
Coconuts help in speeding our metabolism, providing an immediate source of energy with fewer calories than other fats.

Low Glycemic index-
Coconut fiber slows down the release of glucose, therefore requiring less insulin to utilize the glucose and transport it into a cell where it is then converted into energy. It also assists in relieving stress on the pancreas and enzyme systems of the body which, in turn, reducing the risks associated with diabetes.

Reduces sweet cravings- and improves insulin secretion and utilization of blood glucose. The healthy fat in coconut slows down any rise in blood sugar and helps reduce hypoglycemic cravings.

Quick energy boost- Coconut is utilized by the body to produce energy rather than to store it as body fat!

Ideas twist the world

GREENMINDS is an idea based on firm concepts.
After traveling to several developing countries in SEA we realized that progress and the needs of basic living drives people to ignore or misuse natural and indigenous resources.
We are based in Indonesia where we can see an economy built up on micro home industries and manufacturers, a scale that does not encourage or allow research and development in terms of food processing and distribution. Farmers and manufacturers of traditional food compete and struggle, rarely reaching a sustainable size of enterprise or a comfortable income.
Studying several local fermented food products (tahu & tempeh) on the outskirts of Bali's busy tourist area, we began to appreciate the work and the effort of local manufacturers and believe that a minimum diversification in production and a proper distribution, may drastically improve the results and income.
We decided to focus on a largely available fruit : coconut.
